I am left wondering how useful the card will be when gently cooked in
the microwave at power level 5 for 10 minutes, then placed in a bulk

volts put through it before sending it back for replacement
complaining it's somehow faulty - I can see no end of creative
problems ahead as we tastefully sabotage the governments compulsive

It's not the piece of plastic that is the main danger to our freedoms;
it's the centralised 'identity database' that they will be setting up
at the same time. You'll have difficulty 'cooking' that unless you
want to resort to terrorism bigtime.

With luck, Labour will be out before it can happen.
I believe Labour will lose the next election, but if the worst happens
and they do manage to scrape in, their majority will be so tiny that
every piece of legislation they try to get through will face major
hurdles. If New Labour had any sense at all it would call an election
soonest, lose it, let the Tories pick up the pieces from the economic
meltdown (still to happen), then wait five years and rebuild the
party.
The optimal result of an election would be a hung parliament, IMO. None
of the parties are worthy the mantle of power. Vote for anyone not an
MP at the moment; that would oust the lot, it would be their real fear.
I think perhaps a hung parliament between the two main parties but
with the LibDems holding the balance of power, just so that we can
test them at last. I have voted LibDem in every election
(local/national) since *after* the 1997 election (when I stupidly
voted for Mr Edukayshon x 3 Causes of Crime Dentists for All), but now
it doesn't matter how I vote because in South Holland the Tories will
win. I am, however, convinced that the Tories will be better than New
Labour.
A coalition between the Tories and the LibDems could see Vince Cable
replace George Osborne, which wouldn't be a bad move. Cable certainly
seems to make the most sense when explaining financial/economic
issues.
