This one:
"You are either in tune with what it means to be a Brit, or
you're not one, or you've got a tin ear"
Please explain at which point this sentence is "almost racist".
You are trying to assert that no-one can be British based on a particular
personality type.
Haven't you heard the phrase, Birds of a feather, stick together? It's
very old because it's stood the test of time. If a bird doesn't fit
in, it gets its eyes pecked out so that it finally takes the hint and
flies away to find more amenable feathers to stick with. I am
convinced, after several days of reading and hearing comments from the
British public, that my view on this issue is in accordance with the
vast majority of the population. For every ten comments against the
BBC and against Brand and Ross there'll be maybe one to the contrary.
And every time, even this morning on the Andrew Marr show, the BBC
speaks, it is still bleating on about needing to be "edgy", or
"setting a challenge". Being "edgy" seems to mean, how to be as rude
as possible to people and get away with it. I do NOT want my licence
fee to support that, thus the BBC STILL hasn't realised how pissed off
the British are with it and its performance.
my England to be:

It is nothing like that today.
Thank God for that.
So you prefer life in the gutter and want to drag the rest of us down
there to join you?
You seem to wanting a return to the good old days, but those days never
existed.
They existed to the extent that we didn't have idiots paid vast
amounts of our money to leave obscene, hateful messages on an
answerphone and think they were being funny.
They existed in many other, positive ways, too.
Yes, like empire building, suppressing native peoples, preventing women from
voting, etc. etc.
You seem to want everything brought down low to its lowest common
denominator. Perhaps you'll finally be happy with the state of society
when the dirtest joke in the world has been told on Blue Peter?
Erm, that is what you seem to want.
This comment shows that you are simply not hearing what people are
saying. How does: "You seem to want everything brought down low to its
lowest common denominator. Perhaps you'll finally be happy with the
state of society when the dirtest joke in the world has been told on
Blue Peter?" lead you then to respond with: "Erm, that is what you
seem to want."? Your response is illogical, as if the first throwaway
line that popped into your head was being posted even before your head
had finished with it.
