The unjustly suspicious attitude of society is to blame for the lack
of male staff in primary schools, according to the head of the
Government's teacher training agency.

Graham Holley, chief executive of the Training and Development Agency
for Schools, said it is "immensely sad" that people question the
motivation of men who want to work with young children.
Speaking after The Daily Telegraph disclosed that just one in 50
teachers of the youngest primary school pupils is male, he claimed the
fear of being labelled a paedophile is the biggest obstacle to men
beginning careers in teaching.
Mr Holley said: "In my view, the biggest obstacle is society's
attitude. Men are deterred, partly because there is a prurient element
of society that questions the motivation when men wish to work closely
with young children.
"That is an immensely sad indictment of the way, in this so-called
enlightened century, we can still be so uncritically suspicious of
people who share the most selfless of motives: to help improve young
lives.
"This fear of being labelled a paedophile is the single biggest
deterrent to men who would otherwise consider teaching in our primary
schools.
"There would be fully justified horror if anyone advanced the
prejudiced view that they didn't want more black or older teachers in
primary schools. Yet there is a quiet, conspiratorial squeamishness
when a man says he wants to do so. This is madness."
He urged men to "overcome their fears" and added that "society needs
to grow up" ...

The 'conspiracy' against men is being orchestrated by women in the
media. Female journalists and broadcasters are having a significant
effect on public opinion by the selection of negative anti-men stories
and depictions of men as inferior.
A regular offender in this direction but by no means alone is BBC
Radio 4 Woman's Hour - who recently presented a biased news story
about Domestic Violence and went on to affirm that the only people who
carry out domestic violence are men and lesbian women.
But be careful, we have a society which is also in the throws of
demonising children. In spite of growing amounts of hate behaviour
towards young children by parents, and women assaulting kids even more
than men, this demonisation of all but white middle aged women by the
media is getting completely out of control.
Hatred, out of control anger, and violence in a family is despicable
WHOEVER perpetrates it. Just because men are most commonly associated
with violent domestic attacks, does not mean that we should ignore the
other sources. Until we come together and recognise that all acts of
hatred by mums, dads, children and the media are part of the diseased
society which results in people being hurt, we will not even begin to
deal with the problem. Women are very much involved with acts of
hatred, cruelty, violence and can be specialists in making a man act
out their anger for them. Some dv victims, male or female, have to
learn how not to re-create the violence in their childhood, by causing
violence to be used against them today
