The industry wnats to pull itself out of the clouds, it has totally lost
grip on reality. It is now cheaper to buy actual physical music in the form
of a cd than it is to downlaod it. Most new albums are now available on
cdwow etc.. for approx £6.99 yet the cost to downlaod full albums worth of
tracks legally is usually higher than this.
How can the industry argue for illegal downloads when once again they have a
format they can screw the consumer with.
It just doesn''t make sense legal downloads= poorer quality than cd, no
physical media, no inlay sleeves, no information about the album, who
features on it, no credits... I guess this is to screw the musicians even
more. Prince has the right idea, screw having a record company. He releases
downloads himself through his own website. The record industry is dying, not
because of illegal downloads, but because of its constant screwing over of
consumers & musicians.
Yep, the whole thing is a bit potty. I have ordered 4 CDs from PLAY this
week, all old 80s stuff, all £3.99 each. They are being posted to me
from god knows where, taking 4 or 5 days to arrive, and one is not in
stock so I will be waiting a bit longer for that one.
I could have however have downloaded them there and then for £6.99 each.
Doesn't really make any sense to me at all, at any level.
