I don't know why he refuses to answer my simple question. All I want to
know is whether or not he believes in the concept of heaven and hell.

Hmm does sound like boaty behaviour.
I certainly don't believe in it, silly idea that does not really stand up to
proper scrutiny. I have a very very long and interesting discusssion in a
pub with a christian bloke that began as black and white and ended up
rainbow coloured with caveats, exclusions and loopholes.
