I watched this last week and it's an enjoyable bit of hokum if not exactly
ground breaking cinematography. You know the general plot - our hero spends
most of his time being chased by ever growing posses of police cars who
always conveniently manage to crash into each other, the scenery, other
vehicles etc leaving the Bandit to toot his horn and get away again.
Of course we all know that in real life police drivers aren't so utterly
inept that an entire pursuit team of them manage to crash into each other
during a chase, at least not British police drivers. Or are they?

Three police cars chasing a stolen Bentley managed to all crash either into
each other or the scenery injuring five police officers. When the stolen car
left the road and hit some trees the first chase car crashed into the
debris, the second chase car crashed into the first and the third car
swerved to try and avoid the other two and plunged off the road causing
severe damage. Now remind me again about that rule about being able to stop
in the distance you can see to be clear or does that not apply to police
drivers?
You really couldn't make it up. Toot toot.
