As I approached the roundabout to take the second exit (A10) some idiot in a police 4x4 came roaring up the outside and, without even hesitating, entered the roundabout and swung straight across in front of me to leave by the first exit. Luckily, as I was already slowing for the roundabout, I was able to bring my car to an abrupt halt as this moron passed just inches in front. It is a consequence of their knowing that it is highly unlikely that any action will be taken against them.
Are police drivers specially trained to endanger other road users or is it a natural talent?
I'm preparing a complaint to the IPCC but, as the only other witness was my daughter, in the car with me, I doubt anything will come of it.If you had filmed the incident and had 6 independent witnesses, still nothing would come of it. The investigating officers might arrest you for breaching the data protection rights of the officers you'd filmed, but they'd only be doing their job, nothing personal you understand.
If he filmed it he would also get done for not being in control of a vehicle.
