Which is what I am complaining about. In fact I would like us to come
out of the EC.
The European Convention on Human Rights has nothing to do with the Common
Market or the EC.
It goes back to 1948. It is a civilising influence on our politicians.
There is nothing harmful about it. However, politicians, being pig-ignorant,
are apt to blame the Human Rights Act whenever they can't get their own way
(eg, if they are told off for torturing prisoners or for deporting
foreigners without a proper hearing, or for hanging children up by their
thumbs in Young Offenders Units, or for keeping murderers in gaol for an
indefinite period of time because they don't want to be reproached by the
Sun newspaper for letting anyone out of prison).
btw is this is ten minute argument or the full half hour?
