running they have cut connection to all the news servers I have an
account with. Even their own. Starts about 6pm and goes on long after
I shut down at 8:30.
Anyone got any recommendations for a reasonably priced broadband
supplier cos I'm getting sick of this. Doesn't have to be fast. Half
a
meg to 2 meg would do as long as I can get about 7 gig of traffic a
month
nor have any of my clients.
every time.
I have had cause to contact them, the phone was answered almost
instantly by someone in this country and problem solved quickly and
satisfactorily. Remarkable in this day and age.
Wow so you were having prolems even at that price!
set the BB up on my other line, while this was being actioned I got the
code and Zen were happy to cancel my original order and use the existing
line.
Tut tut, they seem to have you by the b*llocks.Yes, they caress them with a velvet gloved hand.
Their prices are daylight robbery by and by anyones standard. You appreciate the value of a service only when a problem arises. Tiscali
were cheap and turned out to be ***, I guess if you need to save a couple
of quid per month you take these chances.
With with effectively no cap for the same price?
And lets be clear about this, I can get use 10 times as much
band width as you with no problem, I doubt I would have
problenm going up to 20 or 30 or even 40 times that
ammount.
And for you to say you have not had problems with the service
is meaningless, you are not able to use the service enough to test it.
As I understand you can use 66 megs bytes a day that is pathetic.
To my mind that is not an internet service, it is not fit for purpose
and you are paying £18 a month with a smile on your face.
Like I said. Mentally illness is the only justification for using the
service.
No doubt about it.
It's beginning to look as if every other ISP might as well pack up and
go home, after Zen took PC Pro's Best Broadband ISP award for the
fourth year running.
Zen may not be the cheapest provider in our survey, but with a
staggering 95% of its customers willing to recommend it to a friend,
it's certainly the best."

NB: Fourth year in a row!
Never featured here and never will.

Did you actually check the site? The front runner was fast.co.uk 3 month contract with no fixed IP address @ £19.96/month
I get a block of 8 IP from zen for the same price.
So tell us all what advantage fast.co.uk have over zen.
These are not home ISPs, they are serious providers who don't say "we don't support routers", and if you have ever had a support call to talktalk or tiscali (which costs not just the phone call but my time as well) you'll realise why people like to go for the expensive ISPs. The prize went to Tiscali who told me to contact the support desk of the router company despite me telling them twice I *was* the support for Vigor and the fault lie in their infrastructure. Suprisingly, when I plugged in their own modem the fault was the same and it took two days for them to fix their own fault.
That cost my client £300 to sort the problem out, when similar faults happen with Zen you get an appology and it fixed in an hour or a realistic time to fix if it's a BT problem.
Cost your time and a premium ISP is a bloody godsend.
Oh, and you're a fuckwit
.
