Taxi failed to turn up to collect family from airport so stuck in
Germany! (irrelevant but indicates stress levels!)
Got to airport late - missed flight.
Air Berlin (bless them) wanted 422 Euros each to bump us (family of 3)
to their afternoon flight from Nuremberg!!
Got onto 'net and booked new flights with Easyjet on their Web site.
Confirmed booking and went to payment pages.
Entered credit card details but card expiry date was put in/taken
incorrectly from the drop down list so payment was rejected and I was
told to try again.
Logged back into EasyJet account (no back button or option to just
correct card details), selected the booking that was still in the
account.
EasyJet kindly informed me that the price had risen by £50!
Reluctantly paid up as otherwise we would have been stuck in Germany!
I have seen it where you check flight details and get a price and then
later the price has changed, but I had accepted a price and was
attempting to pay so did I have contract to supply at the original
price - it was almost as if EasyJet were asking for more money after
an agreement was struck.
Most airlines have dynamic pricing that rises as flight time approaches and the flight fills. Until you submit a valid payment method there is no contract. Just bad luck really and had you submitted a valid payment method the price offered would have been honoured.
