A year ago I wrote here asking advice about my 'constructive dismissal'
The consensus was that I had little to go on. mainly as I had not exhausted
the grievance system. However, I took out my own case using the ETS online
system, I was astonished at how quick and easy it was.
Over the last year I have complied heaps of papers that backed up my case,
initially the other side (local council) refused to entertain any of it.
Six months after I left they 'found' that they owed me 2000 pounds of
underpayment !! Then after 9 months they offered 5000 to stop the court
case, I rejected that, a month on and they offered 7000. As it seemed very
unlikely a court would award more (and I was getting fed up with it all by
then, I accepted. The compromise agreement was sorted out by a local
solicitor and the costs paid by them and at last my cheque arrived.
Result !!
So if you think you have a case and the other side are solvent, go for it on
your own.
