Palindrome (Palindrome <me9@xxxxxxxxxxx>) gurgled happily, sounding much
like they were saying:
Like judging whether there is "excessive play" in a ball-joint? Bearing
in mind some joints are designed to have play that would be excessive in
others.. When is a little surface rust on a fuel tank, "corrosion"?
Given that anything with unusual joints such as kingpins or old enough to
have a steel rather than plastic tank is likely to be in the ownership of
somebody fairly enthusiastic...
What amount of discolouring of a reflector make it unacceptable?
At least you'll have forewarning that it may not be straighforward.
I don't agree that an MoT pass is entirely an objective process
Of course it isn't. The tester's manual explicitly states it isn't, and
that the tester's opinion is required on many points. But anybody can get
a bloody good feel for a likely result, and address many minor points
themselves.
Of course it could be that you have fairly new cars in mind...
Cars in the hands of non-enthusiast owners.
