maybe he said to the Judge "these folders are for Windows O/S

Second, anyone can place files in any folder including the stanard
Windows ones.

Not by accident. there are *some* of the standard windows folders
that you could put things in accidentally. There are others which
it would be almost impossible to do so accidentally.

Nor would most people have any reason to put them in some of those
folders deliberately.

Will there be a new law passed then?

"If you don't put files in their proper windows folders you are a
terrorist"

I shouldn't think so.

It was just a part of a part of the evidence being presented against
him.

But it was evidence of nothing, it was his computer, he can put the files
where he likes.

So what?

Of course he can. That doesn't mean it isn't evidence. It certainly
isn't anything remotely approaching proof.

There are MANY things that any of us can do if we want to, but which
are unusual. And it tends to be treated as evidence when people do
unusual things in respect of relevant items.
