I'm impressed that she recalls so clearly such a tiny detail from a
month ago.

Why?

If I asked you if you could definitely and positively recall the
_amount_ shown on the PIN machine when you bought <insert random
purchase> a month ago, would you be able to answer "Yes"? Would somebody
stood next to you?

You forget I'm from Yorkshire, tight as a duck's arse, and that's water
tight, we remember spending money.

I think someone has answered that, unusual purchase.

How come they're watching you enter the PIN so closely anyway?

The daughter saw the price displayed on the machine, could be the till
or the CC machine, the ones I've used show a readout of the amount
before you enter the PIN.
