P.S.
You should contact them daily until it's resolved - make sure you make it more difficult for them to act incorrectly and less difficult for them to act correctly - It *is* on their till roll & it is only 15 minutes work that you should 'persuade' them to do
Always record who you spoke to and when - you should begin any more conversations with "Who am i speaking to?", and make them wait whilst you write it down - this reminds them to be very careful about what they say or do and as such they are highly unlikely to 'fob you off'

Please can somebody here help me out.
On the 30th Aug 07 I went into my local Denulms fablic superstores in Cardiff. I purchase 4mtrs of blackout material at £3.99m =£15.99. I paid by visa debit card and everything checked ok with pin etc.
Now today when checking my bank statements,I discovered a debit payment of £115.99 Dunelms.
This is clearly a mistake by my bank Nationwide or Dunelms. I went to the store and was shocked to here them say that I cant do anything until I produce a reciete.
I cant find it and most proberly thown out. The only proof I have is I stilll got the material in the bag. Please any advice would be grateful
Regards
Ray
First of all reminder them that your statement *is* a legally binding receipt - The law says 'proof of purchase' which your statment is
Then ask them to help you confirm this on the till roll for that day - this would take about 5 minutes if they can be bothered - with luck the till roll will be itemised (do they scan with barcode?)
If they won't/don't cooperate you'll need to contact head office
