Been pondering buying a house this evening after a few beers.

So I am unemployed I get £500 a month to spend on whatever I like from my
brother. I have no savings. And I want to buy a house with 3 bedrooms, a
nice garden, a garage or a driveway etc etc.

So what do I do now ?

Stop taking the piss & get a life.

Actually it was a serious question.

Work out what mortgage you'd get for £500 - your living expenses.
I assume you declare the £500 a month as income.

Declare to who? Gifts are not income.

So he could sign on and get income support based JSA even though he
has a "gift" of £500 a month?

Of course. And it is not a "gift" but a gift, unless the OP is actually
working for the money.

You will see you'll not get much for even a £500 a month mortgage in
most areas of the UK.
If you had a job would you still get the money off your brother?
