Is this really about looking for grounds to object to the proposed
development?

But the council have told me thats not a suitable objection and that if I
want to stop him using my drive as he will have to I am supposed to do that
myself. Its a civil matter apparently.
I didnt get a letter to tell me about the application . There was no notice
posted and it wasnt in the local paper so I didnt find out until the closing
date that he had even made an application.
So you should be asking the La why they didn't notify you, or why they
didn't ensure a notice had been posted. And you should pursue this with the
Ombudsman on the (possible) grounds of malfeasance.
He made a previous application about three years back and that was turned
down but I dont know why because I wasnt told about that either even though
then he was still still going to have to come over my drive.
Is this for detailed Planning permission, or outline?
Add to that I know for a fact there is a covenant on the groun d he proposes
to build on which specifically states that no new building should be built
or be permitted to be built on the land ( got that from the land registry )
. The whole of the rest of the area has agrecultural restrictions on it.
Then look for the owner of the covenant, and bring it to his attention.
He is outside the building line but when has a council ever taken notice of
its own planning rules on that?
Well, mine certainly does.
So, yes in short I think this bloke is pulling a fast one to build where he
shouldnt and I dont like it and I dont see why I should have to have cars
running over my drive to get up this FP.
Neither do I see why people should have to run the risk of getting run over
( this includes kids who use the lane as part of a school nature trail and
for cross country because there is no traffic).
Its also a blind sharp corner to get into the FP.
Which is a matter for you to bring up with the LA.
But in short, I dont want him building in my back yard - or rather on my
front drive. He should poo on his own drive and in his own garden first.
Sorry about the rant.
I gave you some pointers as to how to go about things. I think you'd do
well to be highly objective about the issue. If you wind yourself up in the
manner your posts suggest, you've lost before you begin.
