It refers to a company in Leeds who makes your computer virtually
unusable if you don't pay its bills.

Comments would be most welcome.

Is this the porn site reseller who puts an application onto your PC
which shuts it down if you don't pay your bills?

That's one way to look at the antics of those shonky spivs. Another
comment would be that their terms and conditions include their
"rights" to meddle with, mess up and generally *** up one's computer
if they choose, terms that might not be quite legal under the Unfair
Contract Terms regulations.

I think the Microsoft Virtual PC is built for this kind of thing, I'm
about to start playing with it myself

The word "it" seems redundant.

Those buggers were recently featured in a computer magazine and, after
some pressure from the journalist(s), were reported as having agreed
to make it much clearer that the "Free Instant Access" button on the
various porn sites meant that the punters were signing up to a
subscription service that was only free if cancelled almost
immediately.

I would not be at all amazed if the company had not made such changes,
as they seem to be running the cyberspace equivalent of a seedy Soho
"clip joint".
