How legal is it to use the devices advertised by the company below to
block mobile phones? If it is against the law, what law would be
broken? They were originally developed to stop mobile phone triggered
IEDs, but I can see their utility in "peacekeeping" in cinemas,
libraries and private meeting rooms.
In fact in the former two, users are instructed to turn off their
mobile phones to be conscientious of others around. Thus apart from
disrupting text messages, the ones you'd be interfering with shouldn't
have had their phones active in the first place!
The use of them is illegal under the various Wireless Telegraphy Acts in the
UK. It is also illegal to import or sell them.
