Perhaps you are mentally ill - if you prefer an animal free environment. No wonder you suffer from stress. A good percentage of city people actually get a lot of pleasure and benefit from interacting with an animal. The important thing is that it should have a nice clean regularly changed bed in the corner where it reposes, that it should be happy and not make a nuisance of itself.
