Personally, I lean towards the notion that, if you aren't married to the

Call me old fashioned...
If it's *all* yours, why do you expect the father to pay for it?
Erm, where did I intimate that the (unmarried) father should pay a penny?
I'm of the view that parenthood is a huge responsibility, and
something that *both* partners need to be prepared to enter into. If
one person is allowed to unilaterally decide to keep the child, when
the pregnancy was discovered early enough for termination to be an
option, I see no reason for the absent parent to have to pay.
If they were married when the pregnancy took place, then both parents should pay, according to their means. If they weren't married, then see above..
I can't agree with that. It's her body - how are you going to stop her harming the (unwanted) baby? If she is willing to murder it, she presumably wouldn't draw the line at harming it in other ways.. If the baby is born severely disabled because of her actions..
I'm also of the view that this should work both ways. If the father
wants the child and the mother doesn't, the mother should lose the
option to terminate the pregnancy, and the father allowed to take
custody on the same terms once the child is born.
