A JUDGE stunned a court yesterday by admitting he did not know what a
WEBSITE was.
Judge Peter Openshaw brought a shuddering halt to the trial of three
men accused of internet terror offences as a witness was being
quizzed about an extremist web forum.
He told shocked prosecutors at Woolwich Crown Court, South East
London: "The trouble is I don't understand the language. I don't
really understand what a website is."
FFS , what rock has he been hiding under?
Prosecutor Mark Ellison then tried to help the judge by explaining.
But confused Judge Openshaw, 59, said: "I haven't quite grasped the
concepts."
Even my grandad who was in his 80s got the idea after about 2 minutes of me
explaining.
Later he said he hoped a computer expert would give "simple" evidence
when called to the stand - because otherwise he would not understand
it.
He's clearly not fit to be in charge of this trial
I think you expect too much , as you are so learned!.
Explain beneath in simple words and analogies in less than 2 minutes to
my 60yr old mum who has never owned a computer
1) What a computer is
2) What the internet is
3) What a website is
4) Whats the diffence between a blog and a forum
5) whats the difference between a forum and a newsgroup
6) Can a webpage display a newsgroup
7) Can you post to a webpage and see it on newsgroup
8) If a suspect posts to a private forum on a webpage could it be read
on a webpage
9) Can a webpage record where a suspect has visited before
etc etc etc.
Can you answer these questions rapidly?
No? Your not fit to comment, as this Judge was honest enought to admit!
What utter rubbish.
90% (guesstimate) of people who use computers and the internet
regularly would not be able to *easily* answer questions 1, 2, 4 or 5,
and many would not know the answers to questions 4 to 9.
Questions 1 & 2 are not feasible to answer "rapidly".
