You just don't. There are no sides to the story. If you report an
incorrect Direct Debit, the bank refund the money. There's no convincing
and no sides or stories involved.

So you have to convince the bank that it was incorrect ;-)
If is was so obvious that it was incorrect, that the bank need no convincing,
then why did the bank allow it in the first place?
You don't have to convince them, you have to report it to them. Whether they are convinced or not doesn't enter into it. The bank cant know its wrong until you tell them.
