Yet another non-story.
They do not have 'courts' they have arbitration services to which those
people applying comply voluntarily.
The very fact that the 'court' cannot pass sentence on people, jail,
officially fine or even apply to non-willing and non-muslims makes this
yet another mail/express 'shock - horror!!!' non story.

I live about 1 mile from this "court" and just around the corner from
where Saddique Kahn lived. I have been into this building both before and
after it was converted from The White Hart pub into a Madrasa. I've also
been in the controversial Markazi Mosque, the Tablighi Jamaat headquarters
in the same area. I know lots of people in this area and I have never
heard even a rumour of any justice being dished out by these so called
courts. That doesn't mean of course that it doesn't happen.

What is a fact is that the area is certainly not policed by a conventional
police force - I drive the back streets of Savile Town several times a day
and I have not once seen a police patrol car, yet other areas of Dewsbury
are patrolled on a regular basis.

However in around 1986 in the same area a muslim man was executed by his
own community for some crime involving rape and something else - I have
googled but I cannot find a news reference to it but it was pretty big
news around here at the time.



hahaha just to follow up - I went and bought a copy of the Express just now
and they have published two photos, one of which is titled as "Community
Leader Sheikh Munshi" but it's not him it's just some random guy. The other
photo is titled as "Muslim Leader Arrives At Council Premises" - it's
actually a photo of the caretaker taking out some rubbish!

Idiots.
