Good, you use the bank so pay for it, why do you expect it free?

Let us also not forget that in most cases the bank charges are
avoidable.
Naive and condescending.
Don't go over agreed over-draft limits.
Learn to stay in credit, so don't spend what you haven't got!
Don't be late with credit card payments.
Don't go over credit card creidt limits.
I do these days, unfortunately there was a period where I
did/could not and I was ROYALLY shafted.
lastly banks are businesses not charities.
I love this 'banks are businesses not charities' angle, so why

The cost of defaults has been calculated to be approx £2.00 so I
will happily pay a fee for my banking and a fair charge when I
default. The banks have taken the piss out of the vulnerable

How is being fairly charged to use banking services a penalty?
Currently free banking is funded by people who have less than
nothing in the bank, is this fair? If you go outside your agreed
spending limits you are charged FIFTEEN TIMES what it costs to do
so in default charges, is this fair?
Banks need a way of preventing account misuse going outside your
overdraft or accounts limits is misuse most banks are pretty
reonable most of the time , unfortunatly some people take the piss
, they constantly go outside terms of use
The charges should reflect the costs involved.
What would you rather the banks do refuse to open accxounts for
those less well off , introduce account mangement fees of £20.00
per month plus £2.00 transaction costs for anyone with less than 5k
the account
Why just the less well off, why not charge everyone account
management fees?
If the banks are penalised one way they will get the funds back
another
Imagine being a textbook customer for years with the TSB, having
personal and business accounts, mortgage, pension, car, home and
health insurance. Then business goes through a flaky period, they
are bouncing your direct debits at £35 a throw, charging you a fiver
a day for being overdrawn and refusing to give you an overdraft.
Meanwhile you are flogging yourself all hours just to bring the
account back in credit to avoid further charges. There are charges
which can not be avoided because if you have a TSB loan they insist
you pay it from TSB account, ensuring them further charges if you are
short, and more daily overlimit charge.
Once you are seen to be limping they are on your back.
Wha would you expect them to do when you have no money in the bank , if
your businsss is flaky then thats your roblem not thiers , your
expecting them to pay your bills with other peoples money
I would expect them NOT to pay my bills, but not then (instantly in the case
of my TSB business account) charge me £35 per bill (making me overdrawn),
then a daily overlimit charge until I brought my account into credit.
It is they who convince us that direct debit is the only way to operate.
My flaky business IS my problem, it should't be seen as an earning
opportunity to them, all they did was make it flakier. In fact it is a
credit to my business that it pulled itself back despite the thousands they
deprived me of.
Further to all this I had responded to the NSPCC 'please give £2 per month'
campaign and while I was skint they were bouncing this and charging me for
the privelige. Robbing from suffering children you might say.
They tell you it is the computers which bounce the payments but this is
bull*** as was admitted to me by bank staff.
