It appear to me to be in context. In general one can sue on a dishonoured
cheque (say one stopped or unpaid for NSF). But I believe there are some
defences available, such as fraud, illegality and a total failure of
consideration. A gift would be an example of the last.
From now on I'll make all gifts as cheques. Then if I stop liking the
