What's the rules on cheques, and the issuer being able to cancel the
cheque/s over the last 6 months?
I'm in dispute with someone who owes me money for work that I've done.
The cheque that I was given didn't clear, and from talkin to the bank,
they tell me it was cancelled by the issuer.
I'm now issuing him with notice of taking him to court via Money Claim
Online.
Anyone who cancels a cheque in the hope of not paying the recipient does not
understand the legal implications of issuing it in the first place. A cheque
is an irrefutable proof of debt
Absolute rubbish.
A cheque is not irrefutable proof of ANYTHING.
It isn't even significant evidence of debt.
