On my passport of Country A, it clearly states "This passport is valid
for all countries except: Country Z"
Unfortunately I want to visit Country Z and perhaps even do some
sabbatical work there for several months to a year. It so happens that
a field of work which is of much interest to me happens to be well
developed in that country. My partner happens to be from Country Z and
I also wanted to spend time with their family.
What are my options?
I have heard about people getting special dispensation to visit
Country Z from Country A's Foreign Office, but I would rather
everything be done without any knowledge of my country of origin.
Raised eyebrows and all that.
As I understand it my passport prohibits me from *using it* to go to
Country Z; it applies to the immigration document and not the person.
Is it unheard of for countries to provide temporary passports to
people who want to visit their country?
Go via X, because they dont man the borders to Z, meaning you can
cross freely. Dont, though, visit Y either on the way to OR from Z,
since they are in a civil war with U and they think that anyone who's
been to Z recently is likely to be a spy for U getting the lie of the
land from Y, irrepective of whether X is involved.
That happened to me actually. When the authorities in Y couldn't get
any information from me, they extraordinarily renditioned me to P
where I was tortured for days with a rather sharp and pointy W. When
I still wouldn't talk, they flew me back to Y, but the plane was
hijacked en route by fundamentalist followers of religion Q, who
forced the pilot to land in S. Luckily I spotted a chance for escape
while they were undertaking their daily prayers, and managed to
hitch-hike my way across R (which took some time, as I'm sure you can
imagine) eventually crossing over the border into T, where I smuggled
myself onto a vessel bound for home.
Next year I'm sticking with Tenerife.
