Yep I thought it was 14 days rather than 6 months! Otherwise
people would need a very good memory to pinpoint the driver up to 6
months ago in a shared use car!
If the purpose of the fine is to stop further speeding violations,
then it makes sense that the fine should be announced close to the
date of the offence.

If it were the money they were interested in, then there would not be
the points.
Most people don't min the fine too much, it is the points that make
you more likely to comply with the law in future.
Then why fine people? Or could it be just another tax?
Because they fine people for just about all offences that they are not
jailed for.
