Yep I thought it was 14 days rather than 6 months! Otherwise people would
need a very good memory to pinpoint the driver up to 6 months ago in a
shared use car!

If the purpose of the fine is to stop further speeding violations, then it
makes sense that the fine should be announced close to the date of the
offence.
