It is a tragedy, that the woman who suffered such a terrible
miscarriage
of justice - wrongly accused of killing her babies - has just died at
the very early age of 42.

It is rather sad, certainly. The implication seems to be that it was
suicide, though maybe we'll learn more.

It seems unlikely that her death is not in some way associated with
the
injustice she suffered, which was linked to the false expert evidence
given by Professor Sir Roy Meadow.

He didn't give false evidence. She was convicted because the evidence
against her, cumulatively, was very strong. Her conviction was
eventually
overturned because vital evidence had been concealed from the jury (not
by
Meadow but by a pathologist Alan Williams) that *could* have signified
a
serious infection in one of the children immediately prior to death.

What cumulatively strong evidence? Cot deaths are rare so she must have
done it?

No, she was a drunk, out of control, alcoholic who never the less could
pull the wool over all the medical establishments eyes and murder two
children without them being able to find out how she did it in either
case.

AIUI, in the first case there was some suggestion of a mild respiratory
infection and, subsequently, it has come to light that the second had
some bacterial (blood?) infection but she was such a genius and was able
to infect both her children just the right way to kill them. Shame that
she's dead now. The medical establishment could really do with her
insights into how cot death is triggered.

Do I detect a slight touch of sarcasm?

And there goes another myth: that the death of Harry was proved to be caused
by overwhelming bacterial infection. No, it was an organism frequently found
in healthy children. It proves nothing. It merely gives rise to a reasonable
doubt, and because it was concealed from the jury, Clark succeeded on her
second appeal. She was a very lucky lady.
