Nope, climate change is a reality. Has been since the earth developed

I just see the situation as one we must deal with and not try to
pretend that humanity has any more control over natural global events
than the proverbial butterfly farting in the Amazon actually causes
the gale that blows away your roof in Kent.
Canute went to great lengths to prove that point but it seems he
wasted his time.
Don't you realise that the one thing most research scientists dream of
is a doomsday scenario in their own field of speciality.
I bet when the media and politicians bit on this particular bait the
climatologist all booked their kids into the best private schools,
safe in the knowledge that research grants would fall from the skies
and keep them ungainfully employed well into retirement.
Politicians love a defendable tax system and who could resist a 'save
the planet' surcharge on your homes, your travel, your lifestyle.
I wonder who are the sheeple now?
If you like, you can change your light bulbs for really expensive ones
that your dimmer switch can't cope with and that require you to waste
energy turning them on ten minutes before you need them because they
have to warm up. I wont.
Any CO2 production you might actually save, and that is doubtful, will
be more than compensated for by the first ten milliseconds of energy
production of the next Chinese coal fired power station to come on
line.
But the earth will still continue with its own inexorable climatic
pendulum and anything humanity might do to perceptably alter the
effects would be like pissing in the sea at Margate and watching for
the tide line to change.
Absolutely agreed. Meanwhile big business is making big bucks out of
the "green" issues, so don't expect it to go away. And a lot of the
measures re total nonsense as well. "Green" washing machines for
example use *more* energy per wash cycle than less "green" machines,
because of the way the energy efficiency is calculated.
