But any priority will do, as long as they're doing something. If they
can't
provide the webspace, why advertise it? My webspace is already in use, but
badly needs updating. Moving to another ISP will inevitably incur costs as
overlap will be necessary (plus a fight over the cancellation charge).
Are you trying to connect to your webspace via a third party ftp program or
something built in to your ISP's system? My website is hosted by a friend on
his own server. For a couple of years I could connect to it either via AOL's
(my ISP) built in ftp program or any other 3rd party one. Then suddenly the
3rd party ones stopped connecting to it. I tried from a friend's machine
also on AOL and that worked fine. So something about my pc or the line it
was on was stopping things.
We never did get to the bottom of it and I made do by updating it using
AOL's built in ftp prog which is slow and clunky but did the job. Then one
day the 3rd party progs just started working again.
I suggest you try a different ftp prog but chances are if you can reach the
site using http then it's a problem on your machine not the server.

"Why," said Ford squatting down beside him and shivering, "are you lying
face down in the dust?"
"It's a very effective way of being wretched," said Marvin.
