This is the only exit from a large forest in Ipswich at TM 187 407 GB

At its narrowest it is only 2 feet wide and a Fireman would have to
turn sideways to get through it. On a good day 1000 people will be in
the wood and this is the only escape if there is a bush or forest
fire. Today I saw a twin baby buggy get jammed in it so you can
imagine the panic if a wheelchair got jammed when many folk were
trying to escape. Do you think it is acceptable?
1) Forest fires are relatively rare in Britain - around 100 ha per annum -
and are more likely to affect heathland than mature forest.
2) The fire brigade would drive through the big gate on the left of the
picture. Sometimes they may even stop to open the gate, if it has an
emergency service keyed padlock.
3) If there were lots of people trying to use the same exit, even if it were
no blocked, most people would probably climb over or through the fence - it
does not present a major obstruction to doing so.
