Re: Sky ADSL

Sky require their customers to use their wireless router, not your own. It
can support up to 4 computers, which won't necessarily suit everyone. If
it
isn't powerful enough to reach the extremes of my home it will be an
awkward
and time-consuming problem to solve. Does anyone know whether speeds over
8mb are likely to be achievable anyway?

It is a well respected mid range netgear router with a modified firmware. I
have the original and a sky one. The range is pretty good in the sense, that
in our house (which is new build, thus thin walls etc) there is no where
that i dont get between a 54mbps and 36mbps wireless signal.

The router will support many more computers, it could support as many as you
wanted to add, with an extra switch you just keep adding, and of course the
wireless adds many more.

No doubt someone can suggest a suitable newsgroup to get feedback from
other
customers but I am assuming that this is going to turn into a question
about
breach of contract before the year is out ...
