Re: UK child database - one more step to a Police state

So which of these two, Tony or Cheri had
the bad parenting skills to induce this
behaviour in their son and what was
the early signature of this later behaviour ?

Can you not tell the difference between an occasional bit of childhood stupidity , and persistant malicious behaviour by teenage thugs?

Of course, but the whole point of the 'Index' is to try and spot the
problem families and kids before they become teenage thugs.

So I'm afraid a wee red flag for Tony and Cherie. Couple more and the SS will come a calling (or maybe someone will mix them up with a different Blair family).

The whole thing is of course bollox, based on the simplistic notion that "more data" means better prediction of outcomes. All that will happen is that those with the very difficult task of predicting and helping kids at-risk will be looking for any indicators in a morass of unedited,
unprovenanced, error-ridden and generally crap data, for which no single agency can take responsibility to tidy up for fear of deleting something important.

Anyone who has spent time and effort 'tending' a local database of such personal information where there is genuine custodianship of the information and a small number of trusted contributors will regard this effectively unmanaged lunatic scheme with horror.
