Re: Paedos in 'lower consent age' bid - Ongoing

Dear Diss,

Thank you for your guarded support ;)

So, if the Sun published that you were a murderer and you were writing
to Peter Sutciffe, condoning the murder of prostitutes ...

.... whereas, what had actually happened, was that you read about and
posted his story on Usenet ...

This would be OK?

If so, then we are in worse trouble than many of us believe.

Part of my plight, is that I am now part of a poverty-stricken
underclass. If this is my choice, fine. If this is due to the lies (or
defamatory opinion) of the media, supported by the complicity of the
PCC, that is not OK.

Clearly, the other issues, which you describe, are ongoing issues which
were included to ring a few bells for the ignorant with vested
interests.

Look out for the specific piece on the PCC, in the future (when I have
communicated with the Commissioner).

Truth, Humanity and Justice - that is the mission.

(Thread is fine on FF and MIE, here)

All the best.

The PCC reply is a graphic, which follows my final letter, on page 2 of
the thread.

Found it (eventually).

While I have every sympathy with your 'plight' (if that's the right
word), I think you are on a hiding to nothing by complaining that 'The
Sun' uses words like 'pervert', 'paedo' or 'sicko' as if they are
fact, not opinion.

The "mobilising to lower the age of consent to 12" and "forging links
with a political party set up by Dutch paedophiles" statements are
both attributed to unspecified 'perverts' in the Sun article, not you
or your website (though the PCC imply that they are).

Anyone who runs an online forum must expect that posts by contributors
reflect on that forum.

The Sun is at some fault for blurring the distinction between personal
emails, opinions posted on your forum, and reposts from other forums.
I think this is unavoidable.

I think you should be more careful in choosing which battles to fight
in future.

All the best,
