Well, that's definitely breach of copyright. It may be implied when
you're sold a copy that you have a right to install it on your machine,
but it seems quite clear to a reasonable person (or at least to me) that
you're making another copy.
Since it's personal use, I don't think this is a criminal act, but MS
could presumably sue you.
Haven't I read somewhere that they now let you instal on a desktop *and*
laptop as long as you don't use them both at once, I think they said you
could run one at work and one at home and transfer between the two, or
then again I might have been dreaming.
