What I do not understand is why you disregard the risk of such an
incompetant or dishonest investigation happening when advocating
intervention. your *policy* appears to be based upon the assumption
that the investigation will be carried out properly. Which would only
be true when you are aware of who it will be carried out by.

It's no worse an assumption than "All parents are best placed to look after
their own children". Broadly accurate with exceptions. I think it's a
reasonable view to hold, CP investiagtions are nowadys subject to so much
scrutiny from various agencies ***-ups are usually spotted at a reasonably
early stage. And when they're not a part 8 review etc soon sees to it that
the person(s) who cocked upare indentified ... well far more times than not
