Anyone else getting fed up with the BBC pushing for charity funds for
the 3rd world under the guise of raising money for 'sport'? Another
example is their Red Nose Day.

I am not sure how this can possibly fit in with their Charter, and it
seems illegal to me.

They are not the only ones at this 'stealth' game. 'Help the Aged' do
not adnmit publically that most of the donations are given to old
people in the undeveloped world. Many folk drop cash into their boxes
thinking that it is solely for UK pensioners.

Having worked in India, where they have nuclear power stations, a
space program, a modern jet air force, 5 star hotels, etc, I have come
to the opinion that they can afford to look after their own old folk.

Obviously they won't if someone else is stupid enough to do it for
them....

I always thought the BBC didn't have a mandate for advertising, even their
programs are padded out with trailers and soppy introductory flashes.

I do not subscribe to any other charity than the Salvation Army. I see the
people involved with the SA as dedicated and non self serving, unlike all
the other scams that operate under the guise of a charity.
