Planning definitions help please!

Hello, I hope you can help me with a small problem... I am currently
applying for planning permission for a single dwelling in what is
effectively my back yard. It will have its own main road access (not
shared), but my neighbours are arguing that because it has no
significant road frontage (apart from the driveway) it should be
considered 'backfill'. I live in a village that has been deemed
'infill only', and they are claiming my application should be turned
down on those grounds. I have tried everywhere to find a definition
for 'backfill' but can't find one. I have a sketchy definition for
'infill' but I'm not too sure where I stand. The planning officer
can't see a problem, but it's going to committee for the decision.

Thanks in anticipation.

Vexed.
