they have made a mistake here !! As far as I am aware the S21 has to be
unconditional to be valid so by sending it with an offer to renew it
become invalid. If they tried to enforce via a court they would fail !
That said it is standard practice for many letting agents as they appear
to know very little about the laws.
Thanks Zoe, that makes sense. Is there somewhere I can look to just confirm
the non-validity of their process?
In the meantime I have sent a message to my landlord saying that I wish to
continue with the existing contract and not start mucking about with new
contracts. The agency hasn't returned my call 3.5 hours later.
