The police violence occurred because police officers were sent into the
field to arrest people who did not want to be arrested. Had the NATS
peacefully surrendered, as requested, there would have been no requirement
to use force to make the arrests!

We are not talking about what *did* occur - we are talking about what
*would* have occurred if the NATS had peacefully surrendered into temporary
detention as was being requested!
