Man taken to court for driving through a puddle!


What a load of nonsense, the local authority should be liable for
the proliferation of puddles, not the motorist.

When I was small and the road surfaces were laid by hand, there
were never any puddles, as the road surface had a slope on it
which carried the water into the gutter, and the gutters were
arranged so the water ran along to the drains, which were always
kept clear.

With the mechanical methods of laying roads today and the idiots
who control the machines, it's no wonder that the roads are often
flooded.
