What if instead of the order being placed on Ebay, it was through
Amazon marketplace?
I purchased some books from amazon and, at the same time, some CDs from
an amazon marketplace vendor. It all /appeared/ to go through as the
same transaction.
It turns out the CDs were pirates. I sent them to the publishers who
confirmed this (and thanked me and sent me legitimate copies). Now,
I've got the CDs I wanted, so I'm not seeking extra. But,
hypothetically, could I also have claimed from either my credit card
company or amazon the cost of the pirate CDs or would I have had to
retain these pirates so that they could be returned?
Frankly, I don't care as long as the counterfeiter gets heavily
punished, but it'd be interesting to know althesame.
