Garage crashed our car on MOT test drive

The garage taking our car out on brake test this morning as part of an
MOT crashed it by 'clipping the curb.' We have not been able to see the
car as it was being towed back to the garage.
We are very concerned about loss of value and potential future
mechanical problems.
Can anyone offer any legal advice (possible compensation?) or been in a
similar situation?
