Well seeing the cost of the damage is presumably below the excess
demanded, one can see the dilemma, not worth the claim because next
years premiums go up, so how to get the thing paid for, blame the guy
who did it and ignore the claim which may or may not be paid.

With such a *** employer no prizes for guessing the way his mind is
working if you insist he pays or makes a claim.
