How much petrol was put into a how empty fuel tank?
Petrol in a diesel is not a fatal problem. The only problem is if the
mixture contains so much petrol that the car cannot be started.
But if it can be started, the car can be run with no damage, there
should be no need for a 'clean up' and the fuel certainly need not
be wasted.
FWIW putting half a tank of petrol through a diesel every dozen or
so tank fulls is apparently 'good' for the engine. Never tried it
though.
