Re: MARGARET EDWARDS

Margaret Edwards wife of the present Haverhill Town Council mayor, Tim
Marks.
My oh my, you give me more credit than is due, one person almost
destroy an entire 16 councillor strong council? For a person who
considers me a "local idiot" it appears I am worthy to be monitored on
the usenet and of a post to this group by your esteemed self.

I have to laugh that you and so many others in your circles regard me
as some kind of superhuman demon that can cause so much "trouble" to
you. All I have done is point out many of things that are going wrong
in a local council and the affects that those in positions of power
have had on the town that I live in. The fact that those in power may
not like me and even fear me for fighting for the town I live in is not
my problem. Indeed those that I fought against went to great lengths to
bring me and those who allied to me down. You did succeed in part in
your aims.

I do not in my opinion regard a person who is wife of a very powerful
local conservative councillor and leader is an "independent". You Mrs
Marks, in my opinion are not "independent". Your actions are always
politically motivated and you will attack anyone who dares to question
your husbands council or your own political interests.

Yes I was the force that ended 40 years of Labour rule of Haverhill. It
was also me who enabled your husband and his tories to gain power in
Haverhill. I saw what Labour was doing in Haverhill, how they were
ruining the town, how they were returned to power year after year
unopposed to the town council. Until I came along there was no
oppostion to Labour in Haverhill. For several years I was the only
opposition on Haverhill Town Council which was all Labour. When Labour
decided to betray the good people of Station Yard so that St
Edmundsbury could get rid of land they owned to Tesco I decided to end
their power, which I achieved.

I was very disappointed that after the Conservatives in Haverhill came
to power that they turned out to be no better than the Labour
councillors that had been voted out. I have attended two recent town
council meetings as a member of public, and I see the Haverhill Tory
councillors acting like a bunch of robots, making decisions without
thinking about the implications of what they are voting on.

The only person who knows what he is doing on Haverhill Town Council is
Gordon Mussett the Town Clerk. When the Town Clerk says jump the
Haverhill Tories ask how high. It is a bit of a joke amongst those of
us who have watched you from the public.

As to your husband, he in my opinion is a fool because he has decided
to shove his head in the sand despite having first hand knowledge of
all that was going on upon the council he is a member of. It is my
misfortune that I am not always a good judge of character and I should
have defeated him when he stood in the election in Nov 2003. Still, I
am on a learning curve and sometime in the future he and his fellow
robots will be removed from power. I think that Labour and their many
allies are already plotting the destruction of the Haverhill
Conservatives and your husband has been walking into their many traps
they have set for him and the Tories. Note how the Haverhill Echo is
quite willing to print in their letters "Tory Ted" by Mr Culllum but
will censor anything that may insult Labour. I know what Labour are
upto but the Haverhill Tories are as blind as a bat.

It was interesting that one of the charges the Standards Board for
England/Adjudication Panel upheld against me was about the defibulator,
an issue that has been a cause of much conflict on the Haverhill Town
Council. Amazing that you Mrs Marks, myself, Cllr Graham, Mrs Annette
Daniel-Ward sat in a room talking about the defibulator, a meeting
where you voiced your unhappiness about how Mr Mussett (Town Clerk) was
dealing with the defibulator and your many health and safety concerns.
Partly as a result of that meeting we had with you Mrs Marks we raised
issues over safety at a Finance meeting of the town council, we even
put forward a motion to ask for an expert on defibulators to address a
full council meeting so that councillors could make informed decisions
on what to do with the defibulator. Sadly the motion was defeated.
Sadly the minutes did not record that this motion ever even happened.
When the full council took place I requested that the minutes be
amended to reflect that a defeated motion had taken place over the
defibulator in that finance meeting. My request was not rude, nor
aggressive, nor insulting. It was a proper and correct request to amend
the minutes to include an unrecorded motion that the council had voted
upon regarding the defibulator. The fact that Gordon Mussett, Haverhill
Town Clerk got upset about this simple request and then had a row with
the then chairman of that meeting, Annette Daniel-Ward, and that the
same said chairman lost control of the meeting and had some sort of
nervous breakdown, which led to an entire meeting being abandoned, has
somehow been landed at my door by my enemies and now by the Standards
Board for England, to which by some bizarre misfortune I have been
found guilty of by the Adjudication Panel. This defibulator charge
against me is just one of the examples that I would have blown apart
had I entered my defence to the ill considered charges aganst me by the
Standards Board for England. I chose to ignore these worthless quangos
because at some future time these matters will be resolved in a court
of law. So Mrs Marks please be very careful about trying to accuse me
of things when you know from inside information the true reality of the
issues less it comes back and you choke upon it.

I still await your irish mates who you threatened to get to do me in
for upsetting your husband. Did you say in the town hall car park that
you can be a very "nasty" lady? For all those reading this... welcome
to the politics of Haverhill where "nice" people get destroyed by
"nasty" people.
