Yes while shes on benefit you must pay CSA, anything you give her is a gift
and will make no difference to what CSA take of you while your on benefit or
even if you start back to work. You can only have an agreement if she is not
claiming benefits.
Don't rush back to work before doing the maths, make sure any wage your
going to get is enogh to live on after they deduct tax, ni, any pension plan
and what you will have to pay CSA, 15% (for one child) of your net take
home.

No, only from the point that you as the father are first made aware by
CSA that they have an interest in you. What you have already described
does not count, they either have to send you a form to fill in or contact
you over the phone.

say child 1 is 12 months only ... claim goes in now ... can they claim
money for the first 12 months ?
